  • Fabolous Talks Ne-Yo Collabo Album, "Kinda Like A 'Best Of Both Worlds' Project"

Faboulous, whose Loso's Way recently debuted as the number one album in the country, recently spoke on surviving the music industry's global sales slump and revealed plans for a Ne-Yo collaboration album.

In addition to music, Fab also said he would like to further his career as an actor in the future.

"I love making albums," F-a-b-o said in an interview. "My last project came out two years ago, so I kinda want to return to making more music rather than...I would love to dip my feet in the pool of acting, but I want to get it in musically as well. The sales thing and the slump of the music industry doesn't change my hunger or my spirit towards making music... I'm looking to do a project later in the year with Ne-Yo which would be kinda like a Best of Both Worlds project that we've been talking about putting together. Musically, I just want to grow in that way, and of course introduce some new talented guys that I've been working with, Street Family, Freck Billionaire, Red Cafe, Paul Cain. And just grow musically as well. I feel like it's my time, I feel like I put in a lot of legwork to get where I am. There's not too many artists in general that have gone that long and are able to still be relevant. There's a lot of people who put out albums, I don't know if it's a lot of people that have that anticipation, and that's the key thing, building that anticipation where people actually want to hear what you have to say." Bad Boy Entertainment's Gorilla Zoe recently spoke on what lengths rappers should go in order to stay relevant and make profits within the struggling music industry.

"Yeah, you know, it's so many ways to make money in this sh*t man," he said in an interview. "It's just hard for corporate America because they base everything around the sales of CDs and now they're trying to capitalize on digital. The truth is that you got to give this sh*t away. Now they getting it with the 360 deals and all that sh*t, but, it's a sea of money. It's a sea of money out here and at one point in time they were making all of it. Nothing lasts forever though." Fab also hinted at a possible reality show deal coming up in the near future.

"Since im n Hollywood, took some meetings & u might b see ur boy Loso n a reality show soon," he wrote via Twitter last month. "No looking for love sh*t tho. Yall ready 4 that? We hav a idea but its not 100% yet.. U twiggas got any reality show ideas 4 me.. What do yall see my show being about??? I definitely want my reality show is b more documentary than nicknamin chicks & makin them do stupid missions to prove they love me..Hav a great idea, & i think yall'll love it. Cant tell it yet bcuz we havent shot it yet & dont want this sh*t 2 get out like Loso's Way did. Its definitely gon b somethin tasteful, & genuine. As u can c n all the videos, trailer vids, & stuff im bringin, i like sh*t 2 look right. Dont get me wrong, its funny seein Flavor, RayJ, & New York makin people do & say silly sh*t. But thats not Loso's Way. July 28th by the way." (Fabolous Twitter)
The rapper's Loso's Way debuted atop the charts earlier this month.

Fabolous' Loso's Way debuted at No. 1 this week with 99,000 copies sold throughout the country. Following behind the Def Jam artist's release was Daughtry's Leave This Town which pushed 62,000 and Maxwell's Black Summer's Night at No. 3 with 55,200 sold records. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
