  • The Game's "R.E.D. Album" Postponed

An Interscope Records representative confirmed that The Game’s fourth solo offering The R.E.D. Album has been postponed.

The source told AllHipHop.com that a new release date has yet to be chosen for the project, which was due out December 8, 2009.

Game made the announcement early Tuesday afternoon (November 3) via his Twitter page, where he has been actively promoting the project since early October.

“Album is Officially pushed back, says Interscope so that I can finish wit Dre without having to rush him, myself or the album. Think R.E.D,” the L.A. rapper Tweeted.

He had warned followers of the possibility of a changed date on Friday (October 30), when he advised them not “be to fast to lock in [his] Dec. 8 release date.”

Last week, the artist revealed the first three songs from R.E.D., a titled which he has stated represents his “rededication” to Hip-Hop, rather than a gang reference.

The official single,”Big Money” surfaced on Thursday (October 29) and is produced by Cool & Dre, the production duo responsible for “Hate It or Love It,” the second single on Game’s 2005 debut The Documentary, and four tracks on Game’s last LP, L.A.X.

On the same day, Game also debuted his street single “Krazy,” featuring Gucci Mane which was produced by Timbaland, who also appears on the record.

Other confirmed contributors to the album include Chris Brown, Akon, Polow Da Don, and Jim Jonsin, who produced the song “Better Days,” which was also released last week.

The Game has also revealed that in preparation for the album, he will release four new mixtapes before the end of the year.

The projected titles are R.E.D. October, hosted by DJ Drama as part of his popular Gangsta Grillz series; Red Tape, hosted by Game’s tour DJ, Miami-based DJ Krys Stylez; Paint The Town RED, hosted by Nu Jerzey Devil; and The Redprint, hosted by DJ Haze.

No word on when exactly these mixtapes will be available to the public.

UPDATE: Game also confirmed via Twitter today that R.E.D. Album to be a reunion with onetime mentor and boss Dr. Dre, as Game's 2005 debut The Documentary [click to read] was released through G-Unit/Aftermath Records. In the four years since then, the teacher and student had spent years in silence, after the famed feud with 50 Cent.

Yesterday, Interscope spokespeople and Game's Twitter confirmed that he and Dre were at work on R.E.D. Album. Last month, pictures revealed Game, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg were at work on Detox.

At present, the project is slated for February 16, 2010 release on Interscope Records.
