I remember reading about that game and I couldn't believe he actually did it, I thought they made some kinda mistake in the newspaper, but then I watched the rerun and it was the most amazing thing ever. He just kept hitting from every place on the court.....
He IS the greatest, no doubt.

Only person who ever scored higher than Kobe that night was Wilt Chamberlain with 100 points.

So yeah Kobe did something really amazing when he scored 81 points

He could of had more points too. In the first half, he was giving up shots and passing the ball around, trying to get his teammates involved. Since they couldn't do anything, he TOOK OVER the game. Classic.

The current greatest for sure, I'd say MJ still and forever will hold that throne though

I don't think the best player, past, present or future is determined by scoring the most points in NBA history, that's just an uneducated opinion...

Are you being serious? lol, the Toronto Raptors aren't even a top 8 team.

Edit: I watched a recap again, I didn't realize the Lakers were trailing pretty much the entire game lol

If there's a link somewhere, I'd probably watch the whole thing, Kobe was on FiRE-YA!

I don't consider him the best player because he scored 81 points in 1 game (although that's a huge factor too since there are many basketball teams who can't reach this number throughout a whole single game), I consider him the best because of the style of his game, his charisma, his athletism, his many achievements, and also a little fact that he came to the league str8 from high school (unlike Jordan), so he did not got the same basics as any other college player, and yet he always was and still one of the most exciting players out there. Yes, Jordan always been public's favorite cause he always played by the book and I guess that's why he considered "all time best", but in my opinion Kobe will take that title from him in few years. Just sit and watch....
