I was hoping for either Durant or Kobe, but Lebron has been playing well this season. Good for him, Not even gonna hate.
A lil over a year ago I was in bondage
& now I'm back out here reaping the blessings
& getting the benefits that go along with it
Everythin that's out here for kings like us
The reason why we like this this jewelry & this diamonds & stuff
They don't understand is because we really from Africa
& that's where all this stuff come from
    & we originated from kings

Glad to see it wasn't a "popularity contest" trophy like last year. Going just on statistics & efficiency (meaning fact, not opinion), LeBron is clearly the MVP. Rose no way in hell was deserving of that shit last year.

Anyway, that's one hell of a list he's on with the legends who have at least 3 MVP trophies. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (6), Michael Jordan (5), Bill Russell (5), Wilt Chamberlain (4), Larry Bird (3), Moses Malone (3), Earvin Johnson (3). He's now the only 1 without a title on that list. He knows he has to get it done if he ever wants to be removed from that conversation of the greatest players WITHOUT a title (Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Patrick Ewing, etc.).

The NBA always seems to change the meaning of it every year? Is it the best stats? In 2005 Kobe averaged 35.4 points, 4.5 assists, 5.3 rebounds. But they gave it to nash who averaged 15.5 points, and 11.5 assists. Reason? Because the suns went farther in the playoffs, which the Lakers missed.

That year, Kobe's line up included Kwame Brown, Brian Cook, Devean George, and a young Andrew Bynum.

Oh yeah, Kobe scored 81 points one game that year in under 3 quarters After continuously trying to get his team mates to make a basket in the first and half of the second quarters of that game.

            ^^^ 2 posts up.

I agree. But let's not forget a title is a team award though. It's going to take a team effort to win a title. The better TEAM will win. Those role players are going to have to come through. It still amazes me that the Heat were only 2 games away from a title with pretty much the shittiest bench in the league. And Spoelstra as their coach. I tell you, Mark Cuban is an idiot for breaking up that Mavericks team. I could've seen them going for a repeat with that squad.

Lol, this isn't a scoring award. This is an all-around best player award. It means you actually have to play defense, rebound, etc.. Scoring title is something separate and Durant won that for the 3rd season in a row (even though by default this year as Kobe didn't play that last game that he could've took it). I believe there was only a 10th of a point difference between them 2 if I recall correctly. Anyway, LeBron was deserving of this award. Look at his PER (Player Efficiency Rating) and you'll see why.

ESPN.com's John Hollinger has ranked every player by every stat possible in this impressive ESPN insider series. Sort by position, sort by NBA player efficiency rating, the choice is yours!

You'd have to be blind to not see that he's head and shoulders above everybody else. Also, this is a REGULAR SEASON award. MVP of the SEASON. Nothing to do with the playoffs.
