  • Tim Duncan Agrees To Three-Year Deal With San Antonio Spurs

NBA free agency continues with legendary Spurs big man, Tim Duncan, committing to the team through the final years of his career.

According to ESPN.com, the 36-year-old franchise cornerstone has agreed to a three-year contract to remain with the Spurs next season and through the final years of his pro-basketball career. While details aren't confirmed, reports say the deal is worth approximately $36 million.

Yahoo Sports! reports Duncan's deal is fully guaranteed and the third year of the contract is a player's option; and also includes a no-trade clause.

The two-time MVP averaged 15.4 points and 9.0 rebounds last season, and lef the team to one helluva record. During the 2011-12 shortened NBA season, Duncan's Spurs won 50 games and tied the Chicago Bulls for the best record in the league.

Their run continued into the playoffs as well, with the Texas team beating the eighth-seeded Utah Jazz, four games to none, followed by a sweep of the Clippers in the second round. By the Western Conference Finals, the team had broke the longest winning streak extending into the playoffs (20 games) in NBA history. However, the Thunder eventually beat them 4-2, ending their playoff run.

The 15-year veteran was selected #1 overall by the Spurs in 1997, and has career averages of 20.3 points and 11.3 rebounds in 1,111 games and has helped the Spurs win four NBA championships.

In addition to Duncan, the Spurs have agreed to deals with two of their key role players from last season -- guard Danny Green and forward Boris Diaw.

Green, a restricted free agent, agreed to a three-year, $11.3 million contract (fully guaranteed), reports ESPN; and Diaw, an unrestricted free agent, agreed to a two-year, $9 million deal
