The Bulls are anticipating Derrick Rose to be out until March.

Chicago's front office has made a series of cost-cutting moves as they anticipate the 12-13 season as one where they stand pat as Rose heals.

      well that sucks
Black eyes. Like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, he doesn't even seem to be livin'... until he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then... ah then you hear that terrible high-pitched screamin

Damn Rose Miami bout to repeat.

Well MJ missed a significant amount of games in the 85-86 season, and when he came back he brought the Bulls to the playoffs and scored 63 on Boston. I know it's a bit of a stretch but hey it's a thought! haha.

That sucks. Rose is one of my favorite players in the league. Hopefully he makes a full recovery.

Nah, Nets are nothing but hype at this point. I think the Bulls can take the 3 spot, not sure about placing second because the Celtics got a lot younger. Rose is gonna be the X-Factor that's for sure.

Miami repeating next season isn't a given. It's hard as hell to repeat in the NBA today. Winning one championship is tough, but to win back to back is incredibly difficult. There's a reason only one team has done it in the last decade.

The Lakers have improved in a big way by adding Nash and Jamison. They can create alot of problems for Miami with their massive size and length. Nash is gonna make life so much easier for Kobe, Gasol, and Bynum. Even at age 38 he's still one of the best point guards in the game. The Lakers don't even really need Dwight anymore.

Oklahoma City will obviously be back next season. They got a steal in the draft with Perry Jones. Really all they need was another year of experience. One thing they really coulf use though is a legit post prescence. They don't really have one at least offensively. They're really a jumpshooting team. As the great Charles Barkley says you don't win by jumpers you die by them.

Boston was on the verge of making the Finals last season. They lost Ray Allen, but more than adequately replaced him by adding Jason Terry and Courtney Lee. They re-signed Kevin Garnett and Brandon Bass. They're gonna get Jeff Green back next season. They had a great draft with the additions of Jared Sullinger and Fab Melo.

The Spurs will also be back. They had an incredible regular season. They looked pretty damn unbeatable during the regular season and the first two and half rounds of the playoffs. Then they went to Oklahoma City and simply got shut down in a big, big way. Oklahoma City shot the lights out. Also didn't help that OKC clearly got the majority of the whistles.

Miami is the favorite, but as we've seen in recent years that means absolutely nothing. There are five elite title contenders IMO. The Heat, Thunder, Lakers, Celtics, and Spurs. Barring something crazy like an injury to a major star one of those five teams will win it.

Reason why I feel Miami will repeat is mainly because of Lebron. During the latter half of the Boston series and all of the OKC series he really began to discover who he was as a player. During the playoffs games of the past he often disappeared and differed to his teammates. But this time around he really took advantage of the fact that he is most athletic basketball player in the league today. He drove more and took less jumpshots. He made smart passes to his teammates when he was doubleteamed while they were wide open, compared to passing up a good shot and giving them a difficult shot. He just needs to work on his postgame and develop a consistent midrange jumper, but other than that he's clearly the best forward in basketball right now. Miami also has added Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. We all know Allen is money from beyond the arc and teams will have to be cautious when doubleteamming because of him. Rashard Lewis... I'm not too sure about him because I didn't watch too many Wizards games (despite living in the Washington area haha), but I'm sure being on a championship-caliber team will make him work harder haha.

The Lakers have gotten better with Steve Nash and Jamison, but the bigs will have to make the difference. Gasol was pretty much a softie throughout the playoffs. Bynum wasn't much better in the OKC series. I think problem with Lakers lies in Kobe as odd as it sounds. While Kobe is one of the best shooting guards, he needs to realize that he needs to get his teammates warmed up. He'll get his shots, Steve Nash will make sure of it. But get Bynum and Gasol on a roll first.

OKC just got shook during the NBA Finals. The games themselves were actually down to the wire (outside of game 5), but there were too many boneheaded decisions during crunchtime. People tend to hate on Westbrook, I don't mind him taking shots are long they're high percentage. Durant also needs to develop a postgame, he already has a great jumpshot. He also needs to affect the game in more than the the offensive part and do some of the dirty work (assists, rebounds etc.). They have the finals experience and now the question is whether or not they can overcome the mental toughness needed to grind through the NBA Finals.

Boston was decent during the ECF, their size really hurt Miami when Bosh was hurt. If Bosh didn't come back, Boston probably would've won that series. I know Terry was an assassin during his championship run, he's a decent pickup and probably won't be injury-prone like Ray Allen was. KG also turned back the hands of Father Time and played brilliantly during the ECF last year. Boston's gotten better but I don't think they'll beat Miami next year.

Spurs are solid, been solid these last couple of years. They're not flashy but they play textbook basketball. As long as they don't match up with the Grizzlies in the playoffs they should be fine haha.

I was talking about guys like Bradley Beal... besides, you can make the age argument the same for L.A.
