  • Trail Blazers, Spurs Unveil New Look, Alternative Uniforms

Both the Portland Trail Blazers and San Antonio Spurs also preview alternative looks, which will be worn during the upcoming 2012-13 NBA season.

The Blazers unveiled their new alternate, red uniform at the team's Media Day on Monday (October 1), which they will debut in front of the home fans on October 31 when the team tips-off the season against the Los Angeles Lakers.

It marks the first time the team's uniform has seen a redesign since the 2002-03 season. The Adidas-designed alternate uniform was modernized "to show innovation towards the future, while still reflecting the team's rich heritage." These will be worn on 8-10 occasions throughout the season. The front of the jersey features a small pinwheel logo placed just below the neckline. A "Portland" word mark in a contemporary font with black lettering runs horizontally across the chest. The most recognizable feature of Trail Blazers' the jersey, the stripes across the torso (also referred to as the "sash" or "blaze"), have been updated to represent speed and aggression. On the back of the shorts feature the "Rip City" logo as a nod to the team’s history.

The Spurs also unveiled a new alternate jersey this week, showing off fresh look, silver jerseys with black trim, which feature the Spurs iconic secondary logo prominently on the front.

Sweet! The Spurs and Blazer sure were busy during this off season.

All the Lakers did was pick up the best center/defensive player of the past 5 years and one of the best pg of the past 10. All for virtually nothing.
