  • NBA To Play Games In London, Mexico Next Season

The NBA is continuing their international expansion next season, with a series of game being played in different countries.

The league announced Tuesday (June 25) that the Brooklyn Nets will take on the Atlanta Hawks at London's O2 arena on January 16, during a regular-season matchup as part of the NBA Global Games London 2014.

It will be the fourth trip to London for the Nets, who played preseason game there in 2008 and then two regular season games against the Toronto Raptors in 2011. The Hawks, however, it will be their first time playing a regular-season game outside of North America -- they previously played a pair of preseason games in London in 1993.

"We are very excited to once again represent the NBA in London," Nets general manager Billy King said in a statement. "The fans have always been very supportive, and we look forward to once again entertaining them with Brooklyn Nets basketball."

Additionally, the NBA also announced that the San Antonio Spurs will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on December 4th in Mexico City, marking the first time the NBA will stage regular-season games in two countries outside of the U.S. and Canada in the same season.

They should leave that to the preseason exhibition games. That's fucked up taking away a home game from one of the teams during the season.
