  • Lakers To Wear Short-Sleeve Jerseys Next Season

Following a successful run with the Golden State Warriors last season, the Los Angeles Lakers will be one of as many as five teams slated to sport Adidas' short-sleeve jerseys next season.

According to ESPN.com, the storied franchise will wear the fashion-forward uniforms for "several" games in the upcoming season.

The jerseys will be white, the same color as the alternative uniforms the Lakers introduced for the 2002-03 season and traditionally wear on Sundays.

In addition to the Lakers, the Phoenix Suns will also have a short-sleeve alternate in their uniform set next season.

The Warriors were the first team to wear the adizero short-sleeve jerseys designed by Adidas last season. The jerseys are 26-percent lighter than the traditional NBA jersey.

According to a league source, adidas has mocked up short-sleeve alternative jerseys for all 10 teams playing on Christmas Day. It's unclear, however, if all teams will sport the look during the run of games on Christmas.

The Lakers were one of 17 teams who tried out the short-sleeved jerseys during the summer league in the offseason.
