The Toronto Raptors are set to sent Rudy Gay to the Sacramento Kings, in a seven player deal, reports ESPN.com.
The Raptors have agreed, in principle, to send Gay, Aaron Gray and Quincy Acy to Sacramento, in exchange for John Salmons, Greivis Vasquez, Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes.
The report notes that the trade involved so many players to accommodate Gay's salary, which is more than $17 million this season.
The Raptors are parting with Gay less than a year after acquiring him in a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies. They're essentially ridding themselves of his contract, which has another year and $20 million on it, for three players who will be free agents after this season.
