  • Stephen Curry, Kevin Love Among NBA All-Star Starters

The NBA announced the starters for the 2014 NBA All-Star Game Thursday evening (Jan. 23), which included four first-timers.

Stephen Curry, Kevin Love, Paul George and Kyrie Irving all landed starting roles for the Feb. 16th game in New Orleans -- all thanks to votes from fans.

Kobe Bryant was also elected by fans although he's been out for most of the season with injury -- the 16th of his career, the second-most in NBA history.

Curry will join Kobe in the backcourt alongside Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, and Love, who beat out Dwight Howard in the starting frontcourt.

In the East, LeBron James was the leading vote-getter with 1.4 million, making him a starter alongside teammate Dwyane, the Pacers' George, New York Knicks' Carmelo Anthony, and Irving at guard.

First-timer starter Curry beat out all West guards in votes, and became the Warriors' first All-Star starter since Latrell Sprewell in 1995. "Wow. Thanks 2 everyone that supported and that voted for me. Amazing feeling and can't wait to represent my teammates down in NO. #dubnation," Curry tweeted Thursday (@StephenCurry30).

The NBA All-Star reserves will be announced next Thursday (Jan. 30). Head coaches in each conference will vote for two guards, three frontcourt players and two players regardless of position. Stay tuned...
