  • Floyd Mayweather’s Camp Says ‘No Negotiations Have Ever Taken Place’

Since Manny Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum revealed -- at midnight on Saturday (July 17) -- that Floyd Mayweather had not given an answer to their deadline, there's been a lot of talk around the Internet.

Pacquiao's camp is saying they're moving forward to begin talks with either Miguel Cotto or Antonio Margartio for a November fight. But, all box fans want is a showdown between the Filipino superstar and Mayweather.

The lack of commitment from Mayweather has fans outraged, some just disappointed while others are flat-out calling him a "coward" and "paper champion."

Well, Mayweather's camp officially responded to all the hoop-la on Monday (July 19), claiming there have been no ongoing negotiations with the Pacquiao camp.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, who represents Pacquiao, revealed during his midnight conference call that he and Pac-Man's reps had been going through negotiations for the planned Mayweather bout through a third party -- HBO Sports President Ross Greenburg -- and noted that they have never directly spoken to any Mayweather reps to get the fight underway.

So, Mayweather's rep says someone is lying.

"Here are the facts. Al Haymon, Richard Schaefer and myself speak to each other on a regular basis and the truth is no negotiations have ever taken place nor was there ever a deal agreed upon by Team Mayweather or Floyd Mayweather to fight Manny Pacquiao on November 13. Either Ross Greenburg or Bob Arum is not telling the truth, but history tells us who is lying," Leonard Ellerbe, Advisor of Mayweather, said in a statement.

So there you have it. We don't know what to think.

As of right now, it doesn't look like a Mayweather-Pacquiao super-fight is going to happen anytime soon, especially since Mayweather revealed over the weekend he had no plans of fighting anybody anytime in the near future.

Black eyes. Like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, he doesn't even seem to be livin'... until he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then... ah then you hear that terrible high-pitched screamin
