    MMA fans? Serious questionh

    Had no idea there was a fighting section on the forum..lol

    So, question... Obviously MMA has a huge hurdle right now due to judging and the bs that comes with it every event. Do you have any ideas or suggestions as to how this could be resolved?

    The reason I ask is because BJ Penn had recently commented on it and recommended removing belts, all decisions are a draw, no judges, and fighters are paid according to w/l record. Thoughts?

    Joe Rogan is constantly saying that the scoring needs to be fixed from the boxing 10-must system. I don't agree with what BJ is saying though. What needs to happen is scoring the fight as a whole, and not by rounds. And obviously with that they need to fix the scoring system to comply with MMA and all of its facets.

    I was actually watching a UFC show today (92 if you want to know lol) and was thinking of this exact thing. One idea I had was for submissions. I had the idea of 2 points for an attempt (where you actually lock something in, like an arm under the chin for rear naked chock for example) and then if you escape the submission you get a single point. Obviously I didn't work out all of the logistics to it, but just a thought lol.

      I think BJ's way would work in a sense, but would add more complications. There would be no more "hype" for main event fights if there were no belts to win. But the idea of doing away with judges all together and if it goes to a decsion it's an auto draw, i think that would at least make people work harder for the win imo.

        We need belts, BJ's just upset 'cause he can't hold on to one lol.

        No judges and auto-draw if no finish could work. As much as fighters deny it, I'm sure some don't risk finishing if they think they're ahead. GSP, for example, hasn't finished a fight in years and holds on til the end.

          I agree with the Penn comment..lol Belts need to stay but i really think getting rid of judges all together could work. Fighters will always deny riding out the win, but with the judging being as fucking stupid as it's been lately, they really need to try harder because who knows what the judges will do.

            same shit happened in ufc 132 siver vs wymann, should have been a draw at least or wymann by split, but dennis won, they need people who have actual experience in mma to judge mma, not some ex boxing/kick-boxing judges, but saying that at the end of the day, if you leave it in the hands of the judges, thats on you lol

              The Wiman thing could have gone either way.. I had wiman winning the fight, but i could see how you could give the split to Siver. However one judge gave it 30-27 for siver, which is retarded because wiman beat the snot outta him in the 2nd. Same thing happened with the Cruz vs Faber fight.. one judge gave it 50-45, so fucking stupid. I had faber winning 2 out of the 5 rounds, you'd have to be blind to think cruz and Siver won all of the rounds. Something needs to happen quickly.

                yea exactly, faber looked real weak in that fight which dissapointed me lol, i expected more form him, but aldo ftw anyway haha, judges need to get an exact scoring system or leave it to the refs

                  It does need an exact scoring system, but I think leaving it to ref opens things up for the whole "fight was rigged" scenario.
