In an ideal universe, Ryback and Brock Lesnar would engage in a battle of alphas at WrestleMania 29. That is, according to the general manager of SmackDown, Booker T, who talked the prospective fight up in an interview with Monday Night Mayhem by proclaiming it "an extravaganza" and "something great for the fans."
Like a wrecking ball through a demolition site, Ryback—dubbed The Big Hungry—has left a litter of wrestlers lying beaten on the canvas. From jobbers to bona fide WWE superstars, Ryback has continually fed on opponents with a running lariat prior to his trademark finisher of a crowd-pleasing shell-shock execution.
The two times the chest-thumping silver-back has been defeated were both against WWE champion CM Punk, with outside interference resulting in controversial outcomes (Ryback fell foul of a rogue referee and then an ambush from an NXT trident who termed themselves "The Shield").
Regardless, Ryback retained a monstrous streak and, in Booker T's own words, the 31-year-old is otherwise "mowing through the competition."
Lesnar, meanwhile, has a proven history of doing precisely the same—providing textbook beatdowns in a devastating manner. However, Lesnar has done so not just in a ring, but also an octagon, adding the UFC heavyweight world title to the belt collection he accrued whilst in the WWE stable.
Booker T is reported to have excitedly told Monday Night Mayhem that Ryback against Lesnar would be like "two bulls locking horns."
The match I would want to see at WrestleMania this year would be Ryback versus Brock Lesnar. Ryback is mowing through the competition. Brock Lesnar has been a guy who has went by his 'Modus Operandi' pretty much the same way, just running through guys. To see those guys meet head-to-head at WrestleMania would be a WrestleMania where people would get their money's worth.
Should the head-to-head be signed, the one major debating point would be which superstar is the hungrier…
