After the first loss of his career this past December, a rematch between Adrien Broner and Marcos Maidana is set.
According to ESPN.com, Broner has exercised his contractual right to a rematch... and vows to avenge the only loss of his career.
"My mind is set on war," the 24-year-old told ESPN.com on Friday (Jan. 10). "I had a bad night. He was the better man that night, but he didn't beat me. He outhustled me. I respect everything. I respect him. But I'm ready to go back to war and get my belt back.
"I'm taking boxing back to what it used to be. They created a monster. (The loss) woke up a monster."
While a specific date has yet to be announced, Golden Boy Promotions chief executive Richard Schaefer says it will be either April 19 or April 26, and will take place at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., or back at San Antonio's Alamodome.
During their December fight, underdog Maidana brought the fight to Broner, knocking him down twice and roughing him up badly on his way to a unanimous decision.
