Floyd "Money" Mayweather has never been shy when verbally challenged by an opponent, and when his upcoming opponent made comments about him Wednesday (August 5), he didn't hold back either.
Juan Manuel Marquez says he is bulking up and training hard to "attack Mayweather to his body", when the two boxing superstars meet in the ring in September for Mayweather's highly anticipated comeback.
Those threats don't scary Money May though, making it clear he isn't worried about Marquez's promise to "hit him where he got hurt."
Through his official Twitter page (@MAYWEATHERMANIA), the undefeated boxer threw some shots the Mexican fighter's way in response.
"Marquez says hes goin after my ribs but there's no weakness in MONEY MAY. Only ribs he'll b diggin n2 will b at Outback after I take him down," he tweeted.
If you're unaware, their match was originally set for July 18, but was postponed when news broke that Mayweather suffered a rib injury, leaving the fight in limbo. However, shortly after, a new date was set.
Now, Mayweather versus Marquez is set to take place Saturday, September 19 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV.
Tickets for the fight, in various price ranges, are currently on sale, via MGMGrand.com or TicketMaster.com.
Or, will be available via HBO Pay-Per-View for $49.95. For Mayweather vs. Marquez fight week updates, log on to HBO.com.
