  • Michael Vick Not Happy Being A Backup, Says He's A Starter

Michael Vick has had a very bad run this season, following a miraculous campaign last year that led to a 6-year, $100 million contract with the Eagles.

The 32-year-old quarterback has been turnover prone this year, committing 14 turnovers in just nine game; and was benched for rookie Nick Foles for the remainder of the season.

While Vick had said he backs any decision coach Andy Reid comes to, he recently revealed that he's not happy about it... and feels he's a starter... not a backup.

"I'm not a backup. Just being honest, just being candid. I'm a full-fledged starter," Vick said in a new interview with Philadelphia Magazine's Birds 24/7. "That's what I've got in me, that's what I provide, that's what I offer. Whatever happens, wherever I end up, they're going to get 110 percent. You're going to get the same thing out of me that you got the last two, three years and that's 110 percent effort and a guy that's confident in his abilities to play and win.

"I want to start. Yeah, I'm a starter. I'll feel that way until I start to feel like I'm becoming a problem on the team."

This season, Vick has thrown 2,165 yards passing, 11 TDs, but also nine interceptions for a passer rating of 79.2. Since signing his $100 million contract, the Eagles are 10-12.

Vick turns 33 in June, and is due $15.5 million next season -- $3 million of which would be guaranteed on Febuary 6. many believe, he's already played his last game for the Eagles.
