Michael Vick may have gotten a break this week, when the NFL commissioner granted him a conditional reinstatement into the NFL with a possibly full reinstatement later in the season. However, his money issues continue for the moment.
According to the Associated Press, the NFL player's New York-based bankruptcy lawyers are asking a judge to approve $1.5 million for their fees, $1 million less than they originally sought.
U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Frank Santoro is scheduled to consider their request during a hearing on Thursday (July 30).
The Crowell and Moring law firm originally asked for nearly $2.7 million, but they reduced their request after the U.S. trustee and one of Vick's major creditors filed court papers saying the amount was excessive.
In his NFL career, Vick is reportedly "getting close" to inking a deal with a football. However, details were unknown at press time.
One thing is known though. Wherever he goes, former Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy will be by his side, serving as his mentor and life coach to keep him on the straight and narrow.
Dungy revealed this week that he'll come onboard any team Vick signs to, to keep him on the right path.
