Football club (soccer), Manchester United, has just become the first sports team in the world to be valued at more than $3 billion, Forbes Magazine reported Monday (January 28 ).
Shares of the club have surged on the New York Stock Exchange since August, bringing its overall value to $3.3 billion. Shares started at $14 and are now worth just under $17.
According to Forbes, United sits ahead of the second most valuable team, the NFL's Dallas Cowboys, which is worth $2.1 billion.
