  • HBO Greenlights Comedy Pilot from King of the Hill’s Mike Judge

King of the Hill co-creator/executive producer Mike Judge is moving back into the realm of live-action.

HBO has picked up Judge’s new comedy pilot Silicon Valley, Deadline reports. Described as a “dark comedy set in the high tech gold rush of modern Silicon Valley, where the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success.”

Judge penned the script with King of the Hill executive producers John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky and will direct the pilot. Scott Rudin is set to executive produce along with the trio as a part of his overall deal with the network.

The pilot is scheduled to go into production in the spring.

In addition to King of the Hill, which had a 13-season run that concluded in 2010, Judge worked on the revival of Beavis and Butt-Head on MTV along with Altschuler and Krinsky. Prior to that he wrote and directed the cult comedy favorite Office Space, based on his animated short.

We look forward to seeing this, his latest live-action endeavor.
