Cinemax has officially renewed its action series Banshee for a second season, which is now set to debut in 2014.
The ten-episode first season, which began airing on January 11, stars Antony Starr (Rush) as Lucas Hood, an ex-con and master thief who assumes the identity of sheriff in Banshee, Pa., where continues his life of crime despite being hunted by a group of gangsters he betrayed years earlier.
In other renewal news, BBC America's Ripper Street was also picked up for a second season, including eight more episodes.
That series, which takes place in the East End of 1889 London during the aftermath of the "Ripper" murders, will begin airing Season 2 in 2014.
