Plus, AMC and UC Irvine launch an official Walking Dead college course.
AMC has released the official key art for The Walking Dead: Season 4, which premieres on Sunday, October 13 at 9/8c.
And here's the synopsis for Season 4: "In the highly anticipated new season, we find Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the group fostering a thriving community in the safe haven of the prison. Sadly, in this brutal world, happiness is short-lived and walkers and outside threats are no match for danger brewing inside the fences. The group’s home and new way of life will be thoroughly tested, and their struggle to survive has never been so perilous."
In other TWD-related news, AMC, Instructure and the University of California, Irvine today announced a brand new Walking Dead college course exploring a range of scholarly topics through the lens of a hypothetical zombie apocalypse.
Presented as a massive open online course (MOOC), the free, eight-week course titled "Society, Science, Survival: Lessons from AMC's The Walking Dead" will observe various fields including public health, social science, physics and mathematics.
Though pop culture in the classroom is nothing new for many schools, this is the first time a technology firm, entertainment company and major university have collaborated in this way.
To enroll in UC Irvine's Walking Dead course (did we mention it's free?), check out www.canvas.net/TWD. The first class is scheduled for Monday, October 14, the day after the Season 4 premiere of The Walking Dead.
