The FX network has announced that they will be developing a TV series sequel to Bret Easton Ellis' American Psycho. The series will be a follow-up to the 1991 book and 2000 feature film.
The story revolves around Patrick Bateman, a Manhattan executive with a secret life as a serial killer. Bateman seemingly relished his upscale lifestyle and like-minded friends, whom he secretly despised.
The series will pick up with Bateman who is now in his mid-50s, "but as outrageous and lethal as ever -- takes on a protege, in a sadistic social experiment, who will become every bit his equal, creating the next generation American Psycho."
There's a lot of potential here for this to be a great series. With Dexter ending soon, this might end up being a good replacement for audiences looking to fulfill their serial killer TV show needs.
