FOX announced today that The Simpsons has been renewed for a 26th season, extending the animated comedy's run past the quarter-century mark. On the air since 1989, the show also holds the distinction of being television's longest-running prime time scripted series in history.

I only watch seasons 1-9 on DVD. This show died years ago. I can't remember the last time I attempted to watch a new episode. This zombie needs to die. The old episodes are still great to this day. They actually get better with age as I get more jokes only older people would get.

the show has been ruined years ago, so it doesn't matter if they continue it (even though I don't know who lets it go on), there's no way I would watch it. as the others said (and me too many times), the old seasons are classics, and they can't take them away from us.

i to have not watched simpsons in ages but there must be still a decent amount of people watching otherwise they would axe it perhaps they just don't wanna end the record breaking run.

Yea they need to shelve it. The early ones were the best. I have't watched the show for years
