New cast member? More like a new item on the zombie menu, am I right guys? Cause, they eat most of the new actors… Hey! We’ve got “Walking Dead” casting news. A former “Greek” alum has signed on to appear in season four of “The Walking Dead”.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Andrew J. West (Fisher from ABC Family’s “Greek”), has signed a deal with AMC to appear in the second half of season four of “The Walking Dead”. Andrew’s deal also includes the option of appearing in season five.
As to who Andrew will be playing, that remains a mystery. We do know that he’ll be playing a new character named “Gareth”, a “remixed” version of an existing character from the comic book series. It’ll be interesting to see the justification for remixing a character as opposed to adapting them from the story.
This “remixing” of characters seems to fit in with showrunner Scott Gimple’s plans of changing up the events that take place in the comic series. Fans hoping for an accurate adaptation of the series might find this to be a continuing nuisance, but hopefully it’ll lead to a more dynamic series.
