The Conjuring was one of the best horror films ever made, and we've got a couple new movies being developed based on the cases of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of them is a spin-off called Annabelle, based on the creepy ass haunted doll from the first movie. It's being developed by New Line Cinema, and it's set to go into production on January 27th, 2014.
The movie is being directed by Gary Dauberman, who was the cinematographer on The Conjuring. The movie is being produced by Peter Safran and director James Wan. Annabelle Wallis and Ward Horton star in the movie.
Variety reports that Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, who starred in the first movie as Ed and Lorraine Warren, will not be in the spin-off. The movie will be kind of an origin tale of the doll, which the Warrens currently have in their collection.
New Line is still developing a sequel to the movie as well. If these new movies end up being as good and terrifying as the first one, then we're in for an awesome treat!
