and the third was where Dexter teamed up with the DA

I used to watch it until the cable provider stopped showing the station(Showtime) that carried it. The last episode I saw was where James was stalking him and he got arrested as a suspect in the murders, i don't even know which season was that.

whtas good in the show is changing direction from the book so after season one both are different stories.

4th season had a very shocking conclusion that i think opens the 5th season up to be a little more creative and less restraining, i wont go into details about how it ends other than to say you need to watch it, you will never expect what happens.
