  • Jon Stewart Announces His Departure From THE DAILY SHOW

For many people my age, the primary way we "watched the news" was watching Jon Stewart on The Daily Show and Stephen Colbert on The Colbert Report. Colbert is moving over to CBS to take over for David Letterman later this year, and now Stewart has announced that he, too, is leaving his show. It's a sad time to be a fan of incisive, funny, satirical cable news broadcasting, and fans are already whipping up lists of who should replace Stewart at the desk. But in my mind, no one will ever be able to truly replace him. Sure, there will be someone else sitting there, and the show will go on, but Stewart found a formula that worked wonders and became arguably one of the most influential people in politics in the process. We'll miss you, Jon.
