I've never seen this show before. Is it basically the same thing as The Real World on MTV?

Big brother is very contrived deliberatly tries to get a bunch of crazy weird people together and then imprisons its contestants in a house and it has a system were people are gradually voted out until there are three left and a winner is chosen.
Real world gets a bunch of relatively normal people together to share a house for a certain amount of weeks like normal roomies or house mates would do.
there are no evictions no contrived tasks they can leave the house go out bring friends over ect .
Real world is less contrived and phoney than big brother since the program makers just get the people together and then lets them get on with life in a normal everyday way
