Activision Confirms New Call of Duty Game in 2012

During its 4th Quarter earnings call today, Activision confirmed that a new Call of Duty game will be coming in 2012.

This comes as no surprise since the franchise has seen new titles annually and Modern Warfare 3 has made over a billion dollars. Still, this marks the first time that Activision has plainly stated that a new Call of Duty game will be released this year.

No information on the title was revealed. Previously, reports suggested that Activision may be prepping Black Ops 2, though that hasn't been confirmed. Sledgehammer has been hiring for a new Call of Duty game, and Infinity Ward is working on a next-gen Call of Duty.

More information from Activision's earnings call will be coming shortly.

boring. modern warfare 3 was a total letdown. spec ops in modern warfare 2 was the best thing to hit FPS in, well, ever, and they totally ruined it in mw3. the mw3 campaign was the worst of the three as well.

I myself enjoyed the 3rd campaign especially the ending but mw2 definitely did have the best overall i would say

great news and i must say fuck a campaign mode anyways.. im pure multiplayer online guy in mw3! in mw2 it was more the spec ops mode, but spec ops in mw3 was a let down.. the multiplayer mode was great tho!!

Yea i agree i found the spec ops incredibly easy on mw3 where as it took me alot to get threw all of them on mw2

let me guess in MW4 you dont even have to fire because they will add the "aimbot automatic fire when enemy is located" option

assuming you mean ps4, it very well could be. from the looks of it, microsoft could potentially be releasing the next xbox as early as late this year (probably early 2013) so its entirely possible sony could follow suit. at the same time sony talks about their so called "10 year lifecycle" but giving the new xbox a 3 year head start doesnt really seem likely

either way from what we know, the next xbox will only be 20% more powerful than wii U, where as currnently xbox and ps3 are like 400% more powerful than wii. that means there is a MUCH smaller gap between power, and companies like activision, EA etc have stated developing for wii u will be MUCH easier than wii. i dont see any need to buy the next xbox or ps4 honestly, wii u will have the nintendo greats plus high powered games from xbox/ps4

dont get me wrong, but i noticed mostly when in game, people say NOOB NOOB, they mostly suck at playing.. mostly kids say that.. idk, im not so long in online gaming, i started with mw2, never really played black ops, i honestly didnt even knew what NOOB means lol til' i looked in translator to check what it means..

for me a noob is somebody who is camping on the same place for almost one minute.. a noob for me doesnt mean that somebody is new in ego shooter games, or new in this very game.. this is an amateur for me.. i mean the real amateurs are these who cant use the left stick and the right stick at the same time lol..


but how can u call me a noob when i use UMP 45, hardliner, stalker, and extreme conditions? i am runnin' through the whole map like a freak to make as much kills as i can... and people say noob noob lol i literally hate those people and need to cuss at them then..


and for the mw3 game, lol yall say its a noob game, only cause its easier for people to be good? in reality its NOT easy.. if u have good oponents, u can be the biggest noob, u have no chance if u dont know shit about the game..

Ofcourse let everyone play what they want to play and what they like to play.

But its a fact Call Of Duty is the most mainstream and mosy easy accessible shooter atm. Made for the big mainstream that never have any experience with other shooters, or shooters in general. Ofcourse people with alot experience plays it aswell. But most people that play COD never played a shooter before.

I see the latest Cod of all duty as the Lil wayne from the game industry. It sells alot, but made for the New people in the scene, cause its so easy accessible and the quality is Meh aswell.

Auto aiming, overpowered killstreaks, no recoil and I can make the list even 2 pages long, shows COD is no longer a REAL shooter in my opinion. A little bit auto aim is ok, but wtf COD is just like u playing GTA lol.

Microsoft said it would be premature of thrm to do another Xbox in 2013 with the success of Kinect it has at least 2yrs left, if anything they'll announce it in 2013 & release it 2014.

i agree with them if they have said that. with wii there is a clear reason to make a new console. HD, more normal control scheme, more power, etc. it makes perfect sense

with xbox and sony, there is no reason, what are the ps4 and 720 going to have, true 1080 or 4X...3D...so what? 3D is just a temporary gimmicky phase, and i see no reason to release a console JUST with a little bit better HD than they already have, especially since very few people have 4X TV's to make it worth it.
