New reports suggest that the next Splinter Cell game is set to be announced at E3. According to a rumor, the game will be called Splinter Cell: Black List and is currently scheduled for a January 2013 release. It’s said to be headed to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U.
In addition, a post on the NeoGAF forums from a user claiming to have seen a promo for the game says that Sam Fisher “is looking good as always with no grey hair, full body suit, and his mighty night goggles.” The post adds that the game appears to be a sequel to Conviction and the “plot will be based on his enemies targeted as Blacklist.” A Limited Edition is also said to be in the works.
While Ubisoft has never formally announced that a new Splinter Cell is on the way, producer Jade Raymond previously confirmed that the title is in development at Ubisoft’s Toronto studio.
Ubisoft will hold its E3 press conference on Monday, June 4th at 3:00 p.m. PDT, so if an announcement is coming, expect to see it then. To keep up with all of the big news as it's happening, be sure to watch IGN's E3 hub.
