Last week an update for the PSN store in Europe revealed a price and date for something called Battlefield Premium. The service has now been officially confirmed.
Reuters (via PC Gamer) has broken the news, saying that the service is on its way and will cost $50 in the US. It also touches upon some of the service's functionality, including the ability to wipe Battlelog stats and new dog-tags and custom knives. It's also rumoured that service will also give priority access to servers and exclusive entry into double XP weekends. The report also states players who "buy the service on their Sony PlayStation 3 console will get to play new parts of the game two weeks earlier than non-members" - possibly meaning early access to DLC for subscribers.
Reuters quotes EA Games executive VP Patrick Söderlund, who is indirectly quoted as saying that the Premier service will help "keep up momentum" for the Battlefield franchise.
Expect more details on the service during EA's E3 Press Conference today (1.00pm PST/4.00pm EST/9.00pm BST/10.00pm CEST/6.00am AEST), which you can watch on IGN's E3 2012 Live Stream.
