“One of the most content-rich months yet.”
Infinity Ward has revealed the July Elite content drops for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. On July 17th, Premium Elite Xbox 360 players will receive new multiplayer maps and a new Special Ops mission.
The first map included is Decommission, which is described as “a graveyard of rotting ocean liners” that form “a mid-sized multiplayer map populated in chokepoints, providing the perfect setting for shoreline-based combat.” Next up is Offshore, “an oil rig in the middle of the ocean” with “helipads, cranes, and countless perches for snipers.” Aside from new multiplayer maps, Special Ops mission Vertigo is set in “the luxurious Oasis hotel in Dubai” and has players trying to “use laser-guided RPGs to dispatch waves of helicopters” and “utilize rooftop advantage to defend from waves of enemies before parachuting to a ground-level exfil point.”
As previously announced, Modern Warfare 3 players will also receive Terminal as a new multiplayer map, based on the “No Russian” mission from Modern Warfare 2. The map will be free to all Xbox 360 players and will be available for Elite members on July 17th and non-Elite members on July 18th.
Meanwhile, PlayStation 3 Elite members will receive four pieces of content on July 19th, including three multiplayer maps and a new Special Ops mission. Maps include Vortex, Intersection and U-Turn while the Special Ops mission is Arctic Recon (all of which was previously released for Xbox 360 in June). A PlayStation 3 date for Terminal has not yet been announced.
