  • Assassin's Creed 3 Getting DLC-Focused Dev Team

A 'Season Pass' offering all content at a reduced price is also revealed.

Ubisoft is establishing a team dedicated solely towards creating Assassin's Creed 3 downloadable content, according to a leaked letter.

The note, which you can see at Kotaku, was sent to Gamestop by Ubisoft to congratulate them for hitting a pre-order quota for the upcoming title, and reveals the company's plans following release.

"We are currently in the process of creating a complementary development team that will begin working on post-launch episodic content to continue the Game of the Year experience that Assassin's Creed 3 will undoubtedly deliver," it says.

"With a dedicated team specifically to this content [sic] we plan to set the bar for quality DLC in our industry."

It's pretty safe to assume that this means a large volume of DLC will be available for the title, though we don't have any specifics just yet. The letter goes on to share that consumers will be able to buy a 'Season Pass' to access all of the content; the first time the series has offered such a deal.

"We know you're familiar with the 'Season Pass' concept and, beginning shortly, we'll start to take pre-orders of our very own. We'd love your continued assistance in informing pre-order customers that a better value is available for those who pre-order Assassin's Creed with the 'Season Pass'."

Assassin's Creed 3 will launch for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on October 30 in America and October 31 in Europe. A Wii U version has also been confirmed, though a release date is yet to be set.
