  • THQ Drops Guillermo Del Toro’s InSane

Publisher returns all rights to Del Toro, abandons pre-production.

THQ has announced that it will no longer be publishing Guillermo Del Toro’s InSane. The news comes via THQ’s first quarter fiscal 2013 earnings call and was announced by THQ president Jason Rubin. According to Rubin, THQ will not pursue further pre-production on InSane, and all rights have been returned to Guillermo Del Toro.

InSane was first announced in late 2010 as a project for Red Faction and Saints Row studio Volition. There’s been little information since then, beyond former THQ president Danny Bilson telling IGN that the game was “absolutely action-packed” in February 2011.

This is the second in-development project that THQ has dropped in recent weeks, coming after last month’s announcement that THQ will not be publishing Itagaki’s Devil’s Third.
