  • Tomb Raider Multiplayer Has Bleed Outs, Team Deathmatch

Details of Tomb Raider’s multiplayer have been revealed, including info on three different modes.

In Team Deathmatch a team of Lara's surviving allies and a group of hostile natives called scavengers fight it out in a best of three matches, with players alternating between sides.

The twist comes with the presence of destructible environments including bridges, and lever-based traps that spit out lethal spikes.

Another of the modes is called Rescue, in which survivors deliver med packs to destinations across the map, while scavengers try and rack up the kills.

There’s another mode too, called Cry for Help. Details on this one are a little scant, but apparently the mode emphasises exploration and collection, not combat.

Multiplayer takes a leaf out of Gears of War’s book, in that when you are downed you have a bleed out time that can be cut short with brutal finishers.

Players will be able to choose from a variety of characters, each with their own stats and loadouts. You can access weapons from the single-player campaign, including the bow, grenades, guns and an axe.

Plus, of course, there’s XP which can be used to improve your stats and buy new characters.

Tomb Raider’s multiplayer was announced over Christmas, to a skeptical reception. It will be developed by Deus Ex: Human Revolution creator Eidos Montreal.

The multiplayer info comes via Official Xbox Magazine, via the Tomb Raider forums. It's not official info, but looks to be on the money.

I agree with ya there as tomb raider has always been a single player kinda game however it seems like every company now is trying to build the next big mutliplayer experience so they can cash in off it to.
