With rumours surrounding a new Dead Rising currently doing the rounds, it seems that developer Capcom Vancouver has more than one project in the pipeline, with an announcement from the Dead Rising 2 studio declaring that it's working on Capcom's "next big game". And it's one without zombies in it too.
“Capcom has one of the industry's greatest back catalogues but for our next project we've been given the opportunity to create Capcom's next big game,” states a post on the developer's site, under the banner of "NEW GAME".
“We're just getting started with the game so this is a great chance to really get your hands deep into the design,” the post continues in a call out for new staff to join the project. “It's your opportunity to put your stamp on a game early in the development process.”
How do we know it's not the next Dead Rising though? “PS... NO ZOMBIES,” the update concludes. So, while Dead Rising 3 looks like a distinct possibility, it appears that Capcom Vancouver has a second project in the offing. A new IP perhaps? A next-gen title maybe? We'll have to wait for an official announcement to be sure.
