Online portfolios and CVs have revealed that LucasArts is developing an as-yet unannounced title.
Timothy Longo is the project’s Creative Director, a role he took up after leaving Crystal Dynamics as the Tomb Raider Franchise Director. He’s been working on the “unannounced project” since April 2011, according to his Linkedin page.
Longo previously worked at LucasArts for a decade, working his way up from QA to Game Director at the company. His CV encompasses work on Star Wars: Republic Commando, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, Star Wars: Jedi Knight, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter and a whole bunch more.
Ben Ratan, who has previously worked on The Force Unleashed, its sequel, and Star Wars: 1313, is also currently working on the project, according to his online CV.
So what is it? It would seem unlikely to be Star Wars: First Assault, as leaving a job as Franchise Director on Tomb Raider to make an XBLA game seems like an odd move. We know it’s not Star Wars 1313 either.
Perhaps our strongest hint comes from the Linkedin profile of Edward Kay, who has been working at LucasArts since September 2011 on “an unannounced first person shooter project for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.” Kay was Lead Gameplay Designer on BulletStorm and worked on Wanted: Weapons of Fate and 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand.
A Star Wars FPS? Sounds plausible to us.
