Disney has confirmed the closure of Junction Point Studio. Headed by original Deux Ex designer Warren Spector, Junction Point was responsible for the Epic Mickey series.
Unfortunately, however, the studio could not repeat the success of Epic Mickey’s Wii-exclusive debut with the multi-platform follow-up Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. As a result, the studio has been closed.
"It was with much sadness that we informed our teams today of changes to our Games organization, which include the closure of Junction Point Studios," reads a statement by Disney.
"These changes are part of our ongoing effort to address the fast-evolving gaming platforms and marketplace and to align resources against our key priorities. We're extremely grateful to Warren Spector and the Junction Point team for their creative contributions to Disney with Disney Epic Mickey and Disney Epic Mickey 2."
With Junction Point now closed, it would seem that Disney is concentrating its efforts on the upcoming project, Disney Infinity.
