  • Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance DLC: Play as Jetstream Sam, a Dwarf Gekko and More

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is set to receive no less than three chunks of DLC soon, with Platinum Games detailing what the packs will contain over on its official website, with a translation from Metal Gear Solid TV.

The first pack will contain 30 new VR missions, which are PS3-exclusive in North America for some reason. It'll also bundle a wooden 'Soul Snake' sword that utters gruff phrases as you wield it, although it can't actually cut anything. We're not sure if it'll prove particularly useful.

Among the first DLC's VR missions is a side-scrolling mission in which Raiden fights unarmed, and a mission wherein you assume control of a dwarf gekko and kick some ass.

DLC number two will have you playing as Raiden's nemesis Jetstream Sam, wielding his big red katana, and battling a Metal Gear RAY. Presumably, this will be some sort of campaign-based content.

Finally, the third add-on pack will enable you to play as LQ-81i, the 'blade wolf' robot that Raiden takes on early in the game's campaign.

There's little in the way of real details beyond what's been translated thus far, but the three DLC packs for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance can't be far away. The first DLC is scheduled to hit Japan in early April for ¥300 (the equivalent of £2/$3/240 MSP) before coming to Europe and other territories outside North America, with the second and third packs to follow.
