GTA Online Not Launching with GTA V, Debut Trailer Released

The world has been waiting for Rockstar to reveal its plans for the multiplayer component of Grand Theft Auto V and today the wait has officially come to end. As it does though, a new wait begins as while exciting details of what we can expect from the online experience are delivered, they're accompanied by word that GTA V's multiplayer mode will not launch with the game in September.

The good news is that GTA fans won't have to wait too long to enjoy multiplayer in GTA V as Rockstar has confirmed that while Grand Theft Auto Online won't be available when the game hits on September 17, it will be made available as a free download beginning October 1.
As outlined over on GameSpot, players will join GTA Online as a new character who is placed within the game's already populated world while them the ability to create custom missions in the form of deathwatches and races that they can then share with their friends.

It's a ploy to encourage people to actually play the game with the 9023092872612672092 hours Rockstar has put into it rather than the 9 year olds jumping straight into online multilayer. I was gonna knock out the story mode first one way or another before online Multilayer anyway

I hate when games come out and people go straight to multiplayer. It's stupid. I love story modes and gta has great ones.

However this multiplayer does look really cool. But I never really played the mp on 4 at all it was lame. I like fps multiplayer and fighting and racing.

I don't believe this mp will be as big as cod multiplayer. Yeah they're different games I'm just talking attention and people playing it.

They always make games on both systems. I remember when ps3 came out they put NFS carbon on ps2 and ps3 but they are slightly different games. I think ps3 had a rear view and more while ps2 didn't. I think that did the same with NSF most wanted.

Anyways not everyone can afford a new system when it's released so why should gaming developers punish those people and keep from gaining sales on previous systems? I think it's a smart move. I'm sure gtav will be on both ps3&4
