Capcom is investing a lot into their Xbox One launch title Dead Rising 3. They recently confirmed the in-game world will be much larger than the combined size of the gameworlds from the first two, and at a recent Xbox One event in Sydney, Capcom producer Mike Jones sat down with CVG to discuss some of the more exciting things they’re introducing to the series.
One of these additions is procedurally generated zombies, a feature that guarantees you won’t see the same beautiful undead face twice. Details after the jump.
“You’ll never see the same zombie twice,” Jones told CVG.
“It’s all procedurally generated: hair styles, clothing, colours, textures. And the gore is too: missing jaws, missing eyes… it’s all totally dynamic. That’s a whole system that we built. We didn’t just model the zombies, we had to model the pieces and the system puts them together.”
Jones also chatted about the added effort that’s being put into making the game feel unique and alive. Each zombie is unique, and the same goes for the buildings. No more copy/paste, thanks to the wonders of next-gen technology
