  • Pre-Order Wolfenstein, Get Into the Beta for the Next Doom

Wolfenstein: The New Order will release on May 20, but perhaps the bigger news is that preordering it gets you access to the beta for the next Doom.

Bethesda Softworks' official announcement doesn't give any additional details about its plans for Doom, and that means a release date either for the game or its beta. It listed this URL as the new Doom's official site. Doom's latest iteration has been in development for at least six years now.

In an FAQ on the Doom site, Bethesda said beta access will come through an insert inside boxed copies of Wolfenstein: The New Order. Redeeming its key code entitles the user to participate int he Doom beta "once it begins." No other details as far as timing, duration or platform options for the Doom beta were given.

Oh yeah, Bethesda also released this trailer—of Wolfenstein, mind you, not Doom.

I'm amazed they made another. The last one flopped so hard it's difficult to find a copy. I thought it was a good game.

i enjoyed the last wolfenstein game ...it wasnt better than "return to castle wolfenstein" but still a decent game

the new one looks good even when i prefer demons and real ww2 weapons than the robot enemies and future versions of the old weapons

Grew up playing these games back in the 90's. Good to see the legacy still alive.

Grew up on the very first Doom and Wolf games some 20 years ago now.. It's funny how at the time Doom 3 wasn't great, but in light of how COD-like everything has become it actually stands up pretty damn well now. I just hope the new Wolf isn't a COD-styled QTE-fest. Don't let me down Bethesda, damn you.
