In its year-end financial report, Ubisoft also detailed games that will be pushing its fiscal performance in 2014-15. One of the five key titles is something we’re hearing about for the first time: Far Cry 4.
"The year’s performance will be led by five games – Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 4, Just Dance, The Crew and Watch Dogs,” said CEO Yves Guillemot in a statement. “Watch Dogs’ pre-orders are at record levels and it is perfectly positioned to become the industry’s most successful new IP in history."
Missing from that list? The Division, which we would assume would play a major role for Ubisoft were it still in the cards for release in the current fiscal year.
Taking a sharp turn away from the lush island jungles of the top-rated Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4 is set in Kyrat, an untamed region currently ruled by a despotic self-appointed king," reads a post from the Ubisoft blog. "But don’t be lulled into a false sense of security by the achingly beautiful views; Kyrat is a wild land full of perils. Once again, players will be able to craft their own stories as they travel through this exotic open world teeming with wildlife – using their wits along with an assortment of powerful weapons and diverse vehicles."
Ubisoft's presentation slides indicate that Far Cry 4 will be out on November 18 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC.
