  • Destiny Update Makes Some Missions Easier

Destiny's latest patch has hit the live servers, bringing with it a couple of easier missions and a fix for a bug affecting the Vault of Glass raid.

Update 1.0.1.4 makes three activities easier, and also fixes a particularly irritating glitch that stopped Guardians who completed Vault of Glass from getting loot. Seeing as completing the raid takes a considerable amount of co-ordination, effort and time, this was particularly vexing for anyone unfortunate enough to encounter it. Another bug that sees players remain dead if they die as the mission ends will be addressed in a future patch.

In terms of lowering the difficulty, it's the Shrine of Oryx, Sword of Crota and Exclusion Zone missions that have been slapped with the nerfbat, as they'll no longer contain Major enemies when attempted on Heroic tiers. There's no mention of the developer fixing a popular farming spot on Earth that many are using to power-level and collect high-level items as yet.

In other news, today marks the first day The Queen's Wrath event is available. Her emissary is in The Tower throwing new bounties your way, along with "challenging mission modes". It's apparently be worth doing, with Unique Legendary and Rare Gear set to go to participants.

Destiny's Vault of Glass raid was beaten just 14 hours after it went live. Activision announced earlier this week that Destiny is the best-selling new game franchise of all time, raking in more than $325 million USD during the shooter's first five days of release. The Bungie title also got off to a big start in the UK as well.
