N64 Classic Mini could be the next retro miniature to launch following the success of the NES Classic Mini and SNES Classic Mini – here are all the release date rumours, games and updates for the Nintendo 64 Classic Mini.

Might be on its way! This one is the one I am most excited for! How about you?

I'm not excited but thanks for reminding me. I have N64 from grade 5 buried in a closet. I'm going to sell it.

It has to at least come with Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, Banjo-Kazooie, GoldenEye 007 & Perfect Dark.

Hope it gets an official announcement. Been expecting it for awhile. As I understand, some of the classics mentioned in here that we think are a given: goldeneye particularly, and perfect dark, they are owned by Microsoft now I think. So people believe they won’t make it to the console because of licensing issues. Which is a shame. Hopefully Nintendo will prove this to not be a big problem.

I want Nintendo to release a game boy classic.

To me personally, who doesn’t enjoy revisiting older games? Especially classics. But here’s the thing.. over the years, you collect all this big clunky consoles. Where’s the space for them and all their cables any more? The end up in storage. And all the games.. just takes up space.

The classics we have now, are much, much smaller. The games are built in. They use a lot less space and it’s much more convienient to bring them out to use and play games. That’s the first thing.

The second thing for people like me who take it a step further: we collect games. But buying old games is an expensive endeavour, they go up in value and so do the classic consoles. Even then, it’s a storage issue to buy all these.

The classics can be hacked. Which means you can put any game or all games from the catalogue on them. Imagine 1 mini console, with every game for that system on it.

A step further: the current Nintendo minis that are hacked, have been hacked to play many games from other systems: Sega, arcade etc.

The word hacking sounds like you need to be a hacker or really familiar with that to do it - you don’t. It’s realy easy, anyone can do it. There’s dozens of short videos on YouTube showing you how easy it is.

So for me personally, these are a ‘hack’ to store the entire game library in a small mini version of the console. To use and store much more convieniently as well.

Before I learned they could be moded, I wasn’t as interested because they didn’t make the originals redundant. But them being hacked actually does. And saves a lot of money.

Banjo Kazooie too. But I think they have the rights to make new games. I think Nintendo probably has the rights to those specific releases. I hope so atleast else its a fail...
