Sony's flagship smartphone, the Xperia, is getting revamped for 2013, as the electronics giant formally announces the forthcoming Xperia Z model.
The smartphone boasts a 5-inch 1080p display, a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, LTE connectivity and a brand new 13-megapixel Exmor RS camera sensor. Other new features include water-resistant to a depth of one meter (WOah!), captures HDR video, and has ability to automatically kill all background processes and apps when the screen is off. And, runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).
The Sony Xperia Z will be available in black, white and purple when it drops this spring. However, an exact date and price point was unknown at press time.
