funny you mention luigi's purple coins and the elevator purple coins one. the good news is those 2 are by far the hardest ones in galaxy 1. the elevator one try to stay in the middle of the elevator and memorize where each coin is. the luigi's purple coins you just gotta keep trying. i like to get the ones on the right side where you long jump first as there is a good 25-35 coins right there. not to scare you or nothing but in galaxy 2 there is a level that is identical to luigi's purple coins but you got the mario clones chasing you down lol. boo's bone yard wasnt too bad, and if you can get luigis purple and the elevator you will easily get the rest of the stars...yea luigi is the same 120 stars again. he jumps higher but has less traction so its a little more difficult on some and little easier on others.


mario 64 was the fukin shit back in its day. totally blew me away when it first came out and i played CONSTANTLY. ive gone through it getting all 120 stars probably 4-5 times.

When Mario RPG came out in '95 I tried it, but was only 13 at the time and not really into RPG's. I remember loving the look, but not digging the typical RPG gameplay. I have it on my various modded consoles but haven't ever really gone back to it with the intent to finish it. I have however played Super Mario RPG for the Gamecube. Again, when the N64 version came out I still wasn't into RPG's much, but since then I've grown to enjoy them on occasion. I have the Gamecube game, and Mario & Luigi's Superstar Saga for the GBA, but again I play'd them more as novelty's and wasn't concerned with mastering them like the other Mario games.

As for RPG's themselves though... Did anyone ever play Earthbound for the SNES? I LOVE that game/series. I've played through it multiple times and it's my favorite traditional RPG. I'd love an HD remake. Outside of Earthbound though, I Love the Elder Scrolls games, and have logged over 150 hours on a single character in Oblivion.

You should give the og Mario rpg a go. The Mario and luigi/paper Mario games do not compare at all. If you loved earthbound or chrono trigger or ff3 you will love mario rpg for sure. I just finished going through it again last week. Simple amazing.

Yeah just talking about it made me consider revisiting it. My problem now is time. I've made it my goal to Own every Xbox 360 game ever made, so I have a nice backlog of 10-15 games that I haven't played at all times. Add in my Blu Ray backlog and it's hard for me to revisit old games I hadn't gotten into in the past. Playing older games isn't so much of an issue as At least one a year I play through Shenmue for my Dreamcast, and I'm always playing the Mario games here and there, but between only being able to play on the weekend, and my never ending list of other games to play, it's hard finding the time.

What size of HDD do you use? I have a 120gb portable drive that's currently my music back up system, but once I finally get my new 2TB media server up and running I plan on using the HDD to back up Wii games myself as well. It's surprisingly simple from what I've read.

those 2 stars do suck. i think the only stars i need are some of the comet stars and 1 pink star thing. it's good to know those are the hardest but at the same time it just sucks i need them lol. i can't wait to play as luigi i figured you would just run around and play the mario level i didn't know it started over for you basically that is awesome. really sucks to hear about that mario galaxy 2 level! do you get to ride yoshi in that game? i can't believe there is no yoshi in this one! i hate the cosmic race stars too.

oh there was another level in the galaxy one that sucked too. you had to pull yourself with those gravity stars and you are pulling through all these cannons shooting at you, i believe this is one of the last hidden levels. then you pull to a transporter star, except there is no gravity star on the other side of the transporter star and it's like how the fuck do i get to it?? it took me forever of going back and forth until i hit that damn thing, it was twice in the level too. pissed me off. * * & the & is the transporter star it should be * * & * but it wasn't. do you recall that?

in super mario bros i did get all the coins and hidden stuff unlocked on it and was disappointed because there was no reward, no nothin except "you've got all the power coins in all levels"....yeah well no shit. hahaha. i had help from a friend of course but that gay was awesome too. got them both cheap on ebay.

Yep yoshi is in galaxy 2 and its very well done. The power suits in 2 are much better too. Galaxy 2 is harder overall but just as good. The bonus 120 stars are better done too. In galaxy 2 the 2nd 120 stars are hidden in the same levels as the first 120 but in a different location and usually they are hard to get to like you gotta do trick jumps or long jumps + spin etc to them. Very rewarding when you finally do and the bonus two stars OMG. Google Mario galaxy the perfect run and watch the youtube video. Its Insanely difficult. Took me hours and dozens of lives.

It's Western Digital, I think its 2Tb's. I did the modifying myself. And now have that to add to the list of jobs I do for people.

i havent played mario games since i was 16( 1986/87) .
all i remember is frying on lsd and laughing my ass off at the sounds of the coins and the mushrooms popping up when you hit the blocks.

On a positive note i got more starts today i have 115!! 5 more to go and 2 of the ones i got today was that damn elevator purple coins and the other was the boo bone yard thing!! THEN i kept playing and it pissed me off because there is ANOTHER purple coins elevator! this is the one in the garden levels and is where the platforms explode after so long. i keep fucking up and it's frustrating i had to stop playing. didn't try the luigi coins again today yet. i love mario games i heard they were making another super mario bros but were waiting on wii2, which sucks.

yeah those levels were no joke. it was some tough shit. i'm excited to play as luigi now. i notice how he slides when you stop running and how he can jump higher. this game is so bad ass! it just keeps goin!
