  • Retailer Hints at Wii U Pricing

    RRP under £300?

Online retailer ShopTo has gone live with its pricing for Nintendo's Wii U console and its line-up of software. The prices listed are in all likelihood guesswork, but it at least gives consumers rough idea at what to expect later this year.

The price of games - from ZombiU to Assassin's Creed III - are in-line with current-gen titles, retailing at £39.99 (approx. $62), while the console itself has be given an RRP of £279.99 (approx. $435).

For comparison, back in 2006 Nintendo released the Wii console at £179 in the UK ($249.99 in the US).

So far Nintendo has confirmed neither a price point nor a release date for its new console, but Wii U is due for release sometime later this year.

Saw this on IGN earlier. That price better be wrong. $435 bucks for a console after what they just showed at E3 rofl.

I just keep SMH at nintendo lately. For years I was a huge fanboy, defending the big N forever. The wii crushed my spirits a bit with the motion control nonsense but raised them with the amazingness that was Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. Skyward Sword although really good was hurt by the motion controls.

At least with wii we had twilight princess (which I bought for gamecube but played on wii so I didn't have to use motion controls) and mario galaxy at the launch window. We also had smash bros and mario kart and metroid and all the big hitters (minus star fox and fzero) in the works very early on.

With wii u we have a stupid side scrolling mario (welcome back to 1991 nintendo) and fukin pikmin and a whole slew of recycled 360 and PS3 games. We have literally nothing good to look forward too except whatever retro is working on which nintendo won't fukin tell us anything about.

Not looking good for the big N. They are losing fans left and right. I'm almost one of them. Mr [MENTION=856]LarsVerb was correct it seems.
