With only four days left, Gas Powered Games CEO Chris Taylor has canceled the Kickstarter campaign for Wildman. Taylor updated the Kickstarter campaign today, notifying backers that he had opted to cancel the project. "At this point, it makes sense for us to focus our attention on other ways to keep Gas Powered Games running,” he wrote.
At the time of cancellation, the Kickstarter campaign had only raised $504,120 of its $1.1 million goal, and was unlikely to raise the rest in the remaining four days. Last month we reported on the major layoffs at Gas Powered Games that left the studio crippled and waiting on the success or failure of their Kickstarter project, Wildman.
Fortunately, Chris Taylor sounds positive about the future of Gas Powered Games, stating that they “are unable to share any specifics in public” but that if everything goes according to plan, he’ll be able to give fans “awesome, great news in the weeks ahead” regarding the other avenues of keeping the studio alive.
He also urges fans to join the forums at the Gas Powered Games website for further updates on the studio's status.
